A must see in the high puna of the eastern sector of the Atacama salt flat, where the vivid testimony of the power of the wind, the special beauty and variety of fauna observed in lagoons and salt flats, are evident by offering us one of the most beautiful landscapes of Atacama.
On the way to Paso Jama, in the high puna the Tara salt flat is located at 4.300 meters above sea level, for many one of the most beautiful in the Region, generous not only in its ability to amaze the visitor with its beauty, but also to honor Its name ("Tara" means "nesting of Flamingos") as it offers an abundant variety of fauna, normally being able to observe the 3 types of Flamingos that inhabit the Atacama salt flat (Andean, Chilean and James), Ducks, Vizcachas, Foxes, Vicuñas , Suris (Ñandú), Cuy de la puna, Caitíes, Chululos, among others. This is how the surprising "Cathedrals of Tara" built thanks to the accomplice activity of the La Pacana and Vilama calderas, and the penetrating wind of the area, are shown as imposing towers observing everything that happens under their contemplative gaze, offering the visitor a breathtaking landscape. On its way, this trip also visits the Escondida Lagoon (Chita) that shelters the nesting of Flamingos, Ducks and Caitíes, but not without first witnessing the beautiful turquoise and emerald waters of the Quepiaco Lagoon, the majesty of the Aguas Calientes North salt flat that lies under the watchful eye of the La Pacana Guardians, imposing in their disposition like enormous towers sculpted by the wind that seem to rise in the middle of a flat valley to be able to fulfill their mission with zeal.

Minimum value
Because the excursion is private and therefore exclusive for each group, in order to carry out the itinerary, a minimum total value of CLP 300.000 must be considered. Except the entrance fees to the parks, all the values are without taxes, including the Value per person.
Recommendations
The journey of approximately 300 kms. it passes through heights above 4.800 meters above sea level and with usually strong winds, so at least 3 layers of clothing are suggested. Bring comfortable shoes, sunscreen, lip moisturizer, sunglasses, hat and water; it also helps to have coca leaves on hand in case of altitude sickness. Due to the height to which it is exposed, it is recommended to do this tour after having been at least 2 days in San Pedro de Atacama.
Policy of postponement and cancellation of reservations
Our bookings materialize well in advance, which normally causes our schedule to fill up in advance and no longer admit the entry of new ones. For this reason, bookings may be postponed at no additional cost if the postponement is made at least 60 days before the start of the program. In this case, the payment made as confirmation will remain intact for the next date. Bookings that wish to be canceled will have a 100% refund of the payment as long as their cancellation is made at least 90 days in advance; If the cancellation is made between 90 and 60 days, the refund will be 50%. After that period there will be no right to refund.
